Introducing Steve Mccammon

Meet Our New Diesel Technician - Steve McCammon

"I became interested in engine and automotive service when I started helping my Father and Grandfather repair their cars and pick-up trucks as a teenager. After highschool I enlisted in the U.S Navy in 1989 as an Engineman to see the world and learn more about engines. I had the opportunity to repair diesel engines of all sizes, from 4 cylinder engines in small craft to 16 cylinder engines used in generator sets".

"After my enlistment in the Navy I went to work for trucking companies repairing tractor trailers. I expanded into automotive repair in 1998, but remained primarily in diesel engine diagnosis and repair.I have had formal training in Cummins, Caterpillar, Detroit and International diesel engines. I have also completed ASE Master Medium/Heavy truck certification in 2015 and International Truck Diamond certification in 2015. After many years of night shift in the trucking industry I decided it was time to make a career change. I came in to Trotter Ford to get the oil changed on my F-150 and overheard the service advisor say they needed a diesel technician. It was perfect timing. I started working at Trotter Ford in July of 2017".

"It has been a smooth transition from heavy truck to automotive. It's kind of a full circle now, working on what got me interested in the field in the first place. I enjoy working on diesel engines and I am very passionate about my work".
